Jim Shepherd is the newest member of the law firm of Minor, Bandonis & Haggerty, P.C.  He graduated from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in 1983 and was admitted to the California Bar in that year.

While living in Los Angeles, California, Jim practiced with two large law firms focusing on business litigation cases.  In 1990, he was admitted to the Oregon Bar and practiced in Eugene with the law firm of Gleaves, Swearingen, Larson & Potter.

While in Eugene, Jim not only had an active business litigation practice, but spent a substantial amount of time representing creditors and trustees before the United States Bankruptcy court.  During that time he served on the executive committee of the Debtor-Creditor section of the Oregon State Bar.  Jim moved to Newport in 2013.

Jim Shepherd’s practice focuses on business litigation, real estate, corporate and business law, and creditor’s rights litigation.  Jim has over twenty years of trial experience in both state and federal courts.

Jim is married to Deanna Shepherd and they have two children, Jacqueline and Matthew.  Jim is an avid woodworker building cabinets and furniture for his home, family and friends.  He is also a lay pastor who has served many small churches by providing ministerial services.
